Values & Vision
My Values
Integrity
Honesty
Compassion
Authenticity
Respect
Courage
Awareness
Joy
Simplicity
Equanimity
Generosity
Transformative Action
These values are guideposts or points of reference. They are not for judgment or dogma. When things feel “off” in our working dynamic there is a good chance that we are out of alignment with these core values and need to course correct.
Vision
Bodhi By Design is a wellness collective committed to an intentional, fulfilling, compassionate, simple, and sustainable lifestyle through lived purpose and values along with balanced care for self, others and the environment.
Mission
My mission is to help clients thrive in presence and awareness by creating space for healthy, purpose-filled, sustainable and resilient living.
Based on these values, vision and mission, these are my business practices…
Money
This work is an expression of my purpose and being. My work has great value and the potential of being life-changing.
Therefore, I charge accordingly for my time and energy. I do not apologize for my fees for these reasons:
I believe I devalue this work by undercharging or giving away my time and energy for free.
Routinely undercharging or giving away my time and energy for free creates an unethical imbalance in which the recipient owes me at a karmic level. Or stated another way, I gain power over them because they in some way “owe” me.
Further, I do not offer promotional “sales,” “incentives,” or “discounts” on my services and programs. I feel to do so:
Dishonors and makes common the sacred wisdom traditions that undergird these services. As a client, you do not pay for this sacred, ancient wisdom. Rather, you pay for the time and energy that I spend to aggregate this wisdom and customize and deliver it for your particular circumstances.
Devalues the service and creates a sense of confusion and distrust of its real worth.
Is the equivalent of asking an employee to regularly take a discount on their salary, which is unethical and creates a karmic debt.
Fee-paying clients allow me to have the time to create accessible content for others who cannot afford 1:1 mentorship. I view paid fees as contribution and service to the greater good and not as selfishness.
Any staff that I hire or partner collaborations are independent contractors. I respect their right to livelihood and pay them their contracted rate.
Accessibility
I offer monthly payment plans for my program services if you cannot pay for a program in full.
My 1:1 Embodhied Awareness mentorship service agreements have a 30-day cancellation clause. If you are not happy with our arrangement and change your mind, you will receive a 100% refund, less any services rendered. I do not wish for you to feel “stuck” in an arrangement that you do not feel is working for you.
If/when I offer a group coaching program, I plan to save a scholarship seat, favoring clients working in valuable, but high-stress/lower wage sectors (examples: school teacher, military service, non-profit, etc.)
I plan to offer group and self-paced offerings that are high-value, but affordable.
I have a Substack and blog with free teaching and information.
I continue to contribute my time and/or financially to local charities and non-profits that benefit the food insecure or provide education on sustainable food production.
Selling
I will not attempt to sell you anything, ever. I consider the intial free consultation to be a mutual interview. I listen to your goals and present services that I feel best align with your goals. It is your choice as to whether you feel these services will serve your highest good.
My 1:1 Embodhied Awareness mentorship service agreements spell out clearly in advance what to expect from me and what I expect from you. I will not accept any payment or bookings until after you review and sign this agreement, which serves as your acceptance of these expectations.
I will never sell you a tangible result from our sessions. Ultimately, I am a mentor and educator. You are responsible for doing the work of your evolution journey and process. See my Services & Safety Disclosure for more information.
I view you as a divine, sovereign being and not a commodity. I will not continually upsell you on new services and try to keep you in a sales cycle or funnel. If I share a new service (like a special workshop or retreat), it is by your permission, request or feedback or based on my observation of community needs.
During our initial free consultation and during our first 30-days, I am carefully assessing and re-assessing whether I am the best fit for you. If I feel that you are better served by another coach, practitioner, or medical/mental health professional, I will refer you over to them. I want what is best for you, and sometimes, I may simply be the door to another practitioner.
When you feel our time together is finished, I send you off with love, blessings, and best wishes.
Those I have Learned From
“I am a lifelong student and remain teachable. I have invested heavily in my education and understanding - mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
And I spend the time doing the required work of digesting and practicing to the best of my ability what I learn. I model this transformative self-investment for you, and have made it a lifelong practice never to ask others to do what I am not willing to do myself.
The process of passing along what I have learned in this lifetime also nourishes and heals me. It forces me to fully digest and aggregate this knowledge in order to share it in a way that is approachable, accessible and digestible for you and others.
This work is the JOY of MY HEART.”
Spiritual Masters
